Description

The path starts to the right of the parish church of Garda. Cross the historic town center of “canevini bassi”. On the left is a staircase that leads to the Rocca Vecchia.
The Rocca Vecchia, inhabited since prehistoric times, has traces back to the Paleolithic period, remains of medieval city walls and trenches of the two World Wars of the nineteenth century, which were excavated by the soldiers for defense purposes.
The Rocca Vecchia offers one of the most panoramic points of the lower lake.
Following a small detour at the beginning of the stair climb, you can achieve another point with a beautiful panorama near by the statue of the Madonna del Pigno.
